Meet the Team

Dr Akhil Chandra
Dr Akhil Chandra completed his education at Hale School and The University of Western Australia. He graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science with Honours in 2009 and practised general dentistry for six years before acquiring Dental at Joondalup in December 2015.
He is a skilled and gentle dentist who genuinely cares for his patients and endeavours to make each appointment a pleasant one. He is passionate about all aspects of dentistry and is pleased to offer a wide variety of services to his patients. From general dentistry and cosmetic dentistry, through to emergency services and restorations, Dr Akhil Chandra has the expert knowledge and experience to provide an array of dentistry services.
As a strong believer in ongoing education, he has participated in a variety of courses locally, interstate and overseas. In his free time, Dr Akhil Chandra enjoys representing Dalkeith Tennis Club and Royal Kings Park Tennis Club in weekly pennant competitions.

Iris Bendull - Dentist
Iris was born and raised in Dresden, Germany. She studied dentistry in Dresden and then worked as a dentist in Germany and overseas.
She enjoys many aspects of general Dentistry, particularly cosmetic and surgical procedures. She feels very happy to work with highly ambitious and passionate team members.
Due to her curious nature, Iris does various activities. Staying healthy and fit is the top priority in her life that’s why she loves doing indoor and outdoor sports. She also loves to travel, which brought her to Australia in 2018 on her world travel. She also loves socializing with friends and likes acting. She is fluent in German and English.

Dr Jenna Shaw - Dentist
Dr Jenna has a Bachelor of Medical Science and graduated from the University of Western Australia with her Doctor of Dental Medicine.
Dr Jenna is passionate about all things teeth related, especially preventative dentistry, TMJ pain relief, wrinkle relaxants and focuses on relaxing even the most anxious of patients. She believes that communication and an open patient-doctor relationship is key for ensuring you get the best possible treatment. Dr Jenna strives to enable you to take charge of your oral health, improve your self-confidence and your overall quality of life.
She enjoys her exercise including gym and walks with her little puppy Bindi, as well reading or listening to audiobooks and spending time with her friends and family.

Dr Josie Teo - Dentist
Dr Josie completed both her Bachelor of Science with a major in Neuroscience and her Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Melbourne.
She is a friendly and caring dentist with a passion for all aspects of dentistry. She offers a wide range of services, including cosmetic and emergency dentistry, Invisalign, treatments under sedation and solutions for jaw pain (TMD). With a gentle and patient-focused approach, she takes the time to understand her patients’ concerns, ensuring a comfortable and stress-free experience. Dr Josie believes that a healthy and confident smile can truly transform lives, and she is dedicated to helping her patients achieve their best dental health.
Committed to continuous learning, Dr Josie actively participates in professional development courses to stay at the forefront of modern dentistry. Outside the clinic, she enjoys reading, staying active, and socializing with friends and family.

Abdul Kamara - Oral Health Therapist
Abdul graduated with a Bachelor of Oral Health Therapy from Curtin University in 2018. He joined the Dental at Joondalup team in February 2020 after practising in Esperance for one year.
Abdul is particularly interested in the management and prevention of dental decay in children. He has a passion for patient education and aims to empower patients to maintain a healthy smile. He is also very well trained in non-invasive teeth whitening treatments.
Outside of work, Abdul enjoys playing and coaching soccer, sampling different foods and catching up on TV shows. He is fluent in English and Creole.

Holly Hu - Oral Health Therapist
Graduated from Curtin University, Bachelor of Science (oral health therapy)
As an Oral Health Therapist, I am dedicated to promoting oral hygiene and overall dental wellness. With a passion for preventive care, I strive to educate individuals on the importance of maintaining good oral health habits. With extensive training in dental hygiene and therapy, I provide comprehensive dental cleanings, fluoride treatments, and oral health assessments. My goal is to empower patients to take control of their oral health, ensuring beautiful smiles and healthy teeth for a lifetime. With a compassionate approach and commitment to excellence, I am here to support you on your journey to optimal oral health.
Beyond the dental chair, on most weekends I unwind by playing video games with my partner and spending time with my two beloved puppies, Hanzo the husky and Butcho the German shepherd.

Hannah Forwood - Oral Health Therapist
Hannah graduated from Charles Sturt University with a bachelor of Oral Health Therapy and Hygiene in 2022 and has worked in the dental industry since 2018.
Having had experience working in a pediatric clinic in the Northern Territory Hannah enjoys treating kids and working on preventative dentistry. She also has an interest in orthodontics and teeth whitening treatments.
Having grown up on the mid north coast of Australia (Port Macquarie, NSW) Hannah loves going to the beach, playing sport and going camping when she’s not working.

Congra Thichiot - Dental Assistant
I have been working as a dental assistant since 2021 and love helping patients feel comfortable during their visits. At Dental at Joondalup, I assist with a variety of procedures and help keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. I enjoy meeting new people and making their experience as easy and stress free as possible. After all, I’m here to help you brush off any worries because who needs stress when you’ve got a smile to protect?
Outside of work, I am a full-time student at Curtin University, studying biomedical science. I love socialising, going out with friends, and exploring new places. I also enjoy staying active and learning new skills in my free time.

Kaza Huynh - Dental Nurse & Front Office Coordinator
Hi, My name is Kaza.
With two years of experience as a dental assistant, I am passionate about helping people regain their confidence in their smiles.
My journey into the dental field was inspired by the kindness and care I experienced from my own dentist and orthodontist. Their compassion made a lasting impression on me, and I knew I wanted to make a similar impact on others.
In my role, I work closely with our team to ensure patients feel comfortable and supported while receiving the best care possible.
Outside of work, I enjoy doing creative and crafty projects with friends over the weekends or trying new sweet and savoury recipes. I also love exploring new cafes and restaurants, always on the lookout for the next best dining spot. Traveling is another one of my passions, and I’m always excited to explore new places and cultures.

Hi, my name is Petra,
I’m from a small coastal town called Mangawhai in the north island of New Zealand.
I have an incredible teenage boy and now another son on the way!
I’ve been with Dental at Joondalup for 3 years and I’ve been a dental nurse for the past 6 years.
I am the Practice Manager at Dental at Joondalup and I thoroughly enjoy my role. I work and assist my team in delivering an outstanding 7 star service to our patients.
I also work in our Lab to create quality in house cosmetic prosthetics.

Georgia – Dental Nurse
Georgia moved to Australia at the age of 5 living in Carnarvon, Karratha and now Perth.
Georgia completed her Cert IV in dental assisting at OHCWA. Georgia has recently joined the team of Dental at Joondalup and feels she’s settled nicely.
Georgia is very passionate as a dental assistant being there to support, care and understand everyone’s differences. She’s very interested in the surgical side of dentistry and is yet to further her studies and future.
Georgia enjoys beach walks, pilates and having a good time out with her friends and family in her spare time.

Monica - Front Office Co-ordinator
Hi, my name is Monica.
I have been a part of Dental at Joondalup since the beginning of 2022 as front office reception and have been in the dental industry for the past 5 years.
Working as a dental receptionist has been rewarding in many ways as I get the opportunity to engage with a variety of people daily, from patients to dental professionals.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, travelling and binge-watching TV series. It’s all about finding that balance!
